Introduction to Carbon Black Production Processes

2025-10-27 16:47:07

Carbon black production processes can be categorized into two types: incomplete combustion and thermal cracking. Incomplete combustion (thermal oxidation decomposition) methods include oil furnaces, gas furnaces, sprays, lamp smoke, tanks, drums, and mixed gas methods; thermal cracking methods include thermal cracking, acetylene, and plasma processes. The oil furnace method, with its advantages of multiple process adjustments, high thermal energy utilization, low energy consumption, and low cost, is the primary carbon black production process.

To meet storage, transportation, and pollution prevention requirements, carbon black is typically pelletized using wet or dry methods to form pelletized carbon black products. A large amount of carbon black is used in the downstream filler market for a wide range of applications. To meet the performance requirements of different materials, pelletized carbon black requires fine grinding to meet specific application requirements.
