Carbon black is a loose, lightweight, ultra-fine black powder of amorphous carbon. It can be categorized by application into rubber carbon black and non-rubber carbon black. Rubber carbon black is further divided into hard carbon black and soft carbon black. Non-rubber carbon black, also known as specialty carbon black, includes pigment carbon black, conductive carbon black, plastic carbon black, and special-purpose carbon black.
