The Important Role of Grinding in Metallurgical Pellet Production

Grinding is a key process in the production of metallurgical pellets. Iron ore, the primary raw material for metallurgical pellets, typically undergoes grinding to achieve a particle size that meets certain requirements for pelletizing and sintering. Additives (such as binders, bentonite, and limestone) also require grinding to ensure they are evenly dispersed within the iron ore, enhancing the strength and stability of the pellets. Pulverized coal, used as a fuel for green pellet calcination, provides more uniform heat distribution, helping to improve pellet calcination efficiency and ensuring the pellets achieve the desired hardness and strength during calcination.
